Book it in your diaries people! 17th September in Cardiff for The Ballswipe 2016: The Sam Rowley Memorial Basketball Tournament
Sorry its late, but we have finally got the dates and venue locked in for the tournament. Unfortunately we were unable to find a venue near to Sam’s home town in Oxford on those dates so we have decided to hold the tourney in Cardiff. It will be held at the House of Sport which has two courts which they are more than happy for us to have for Saturday 17th of September all day. Cardiff is a city Sam was fond of and as a few of us have close links to the national league set up down there, it was easy for us to get a venue at a good price.
The cost for the tourney will depend of how many teams will be taking part. Some quick maths works out as:
Price per team for 10 teams – £44
Price per team for 8 teams – £54
Price per team for 6 teams – £72
We are looking at venues for a after party so many be an added fee for this but trying to make it as small as possible.
So the more teams the merrier 🙂
We were also thinking that the tournament should be mixed girls and guys. Maximum of 10 players per team including 3 women per team and at least 1 woman on court at all times.
If you don’t want to or cant play we would love some volunteers for table officiating/reffereeing etc
Lastly this is a fun tournament so if you are solo and need a team we will for sure find you a home and if you don’t want to do either you’re more than welcome to come, watch some games and enjoy the vibe.
