The Third Big Cheese Tournament “Spirit of Sam”

2018 was held in Manchester under the excellent organisation of Ady Birchall and right hand aide Jolanda.

The raffle, tombola and sale of laces raised the fantastic amount of £1534.50 Well done everyone.

Team CIA took the hat trick with a third win well done to Darryl Lewis and his team – beware for a handicap next time – I may play for you.

The Spirit of Sam continued into the evening with fancy dress, I will let the photos speak for themselves.

I know how proud but also very humble Sam would be, so please if you know of any teams that would benefit from your tremendous efforts put them in touch.

James is running 5k in every London Borough on 32 consecutive days – Keep running and smiling James – Sam is with you all the way !

He is doing really well having raised over his estimate of £1000 so far.

The lovely Amber has been out fundraising and sent us this report:

A heart felt thank you to Rachel France, Biomechanics Education, all the companies who donated prizes and attendees of the Movement Convention for such generosity and support of The Big Cheese. Your enthusiasm to buy raffle tickets was astounding raising £480 for The Big Cheese but even more so for the overwhelming generosity of prizes donated to the raffle.

This is all came from group of very special and inspirational people who didn’t even know Sam and are a new group of colleagues but very quickly becoming friends to me! As soon as they heard the Spirit of Sam and ethos behind The Big Cheese they could not donate enough. It was a very proud and humbling time to see that Our Sam is still touching so many people. His spirit and energy will live on through all of us and his passion for basketball and supporting those who need it through The Big Cheese. Dream Big and Keep Smiling. Amber xx
